Fourth Ordinary Time

Mt 5,1-12

1 Seeing the crowds, he went up the mountain and sat down and came up to him and his disciples. 2 He began to teach them, saying:

3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are those who mourn,

they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek,

they will inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

they shall be satisfied.

7 Blessed are the merciful,

they will receive mercy.

8 Blessed are the pure in heart,

they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they shall be called sons of God.

10 Blessed are the persecuted for righteousness,

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely mia.12 Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you

A river and its streams make glad the city of God

Jesus does not propose theories or ideas, mysterious doctrines, but it offers a way of realization of life according to God: the sanctification of life. The sanctification of man is nothing but the imitation of Jesus Christ and live in the beatitudes proclaimed by Christ. Jesus speaks and teaches with his life and with his word, which is authentic and credible because of his life.

The nine beatitudes proclaimed by Jesus are like nine streams that come from Christ himself and through the history of the men come up to the most extreme ends of the earth. I have a flood of saints and sanctity, that make glad the city of men. When we feel that there is some scandal in the Church, we must remember this river and its eternal streams that continues to irrigate the history of mankind.

The waters of holiness where they arrive healed the desert land and burst into blossom in the steppe. This is not a poetic image but it's true. Where to get a holy life comes. Every saint lives constantly in the Church's holiness River, which flows from Christ and the beatitudes are the streams of grace, coming down from the mountain of Christ and come to the ends of the earth.

How do we immerse ourselves in this river? We must not lose sight of the sanctity of the Church, which is manifested in the Mother of God and saints of all time, which though many of them old, living in the bliss of heaven and therefore are present and contemporary to us. The saints today, those living in our time, we have to look with confidence and know how to find in the daily life of the Church. Are unsuspected people: the elderly, young men, women, children, who almost always are known and recognized in their sanctity after death such as Chiara Luce Badano, or teen Carlo Acutis, or Gianna Beretta Molla and many others. These brothers have lived in the Beatitudes of Christ, they are immersed in the Church's holiness streams and flows into the sea of eternal life.

If we want to become saints must love the saints, to live with the saints, attend the saints and make us even our personal journey of holiness, to help grow the River of God.

In fact, says a psalm: the river and its streams make glad the city of God (Psalm 45): the cities of the earth and that which awaits us in heaven. Good day.

Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul

Mc 16.15 to 18

15 And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, 1 8 They shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them harm; lay hands on the sick and they will recover. "

Jesus calls all personally

Jesus is speaking to the disciples and apostles for the last time, he speaks to all and at the same time to each of them (Jesus does not speak broadly). This word and this command from Jesus to all: to proclaim the Gospel and to baptize. The preacher of the Gospel does it with the word and with life. For the Gospel can not be separated from the person who announces and baptism is the way in which he introduces the encounter with Christ, who accepts the Gospel. This they did the first disciples, the apostles throughout the Church to this day. Even St. Paul the Apostle of the nations, of which today we celebrate his conversion, not to God, but to Jesus Christ, and more precisely to the Gospel.

What is impressive is to see that Jesus makes group calls, but always personal. Does not call the armies of missionaries and apostles, but of one, the other, the other, no respecter of persons, but personally electing those who choose.

So he did with St. Paul, with all the apostles and saints, one by one. Then the saints by the grace of Christ had legions of disciples, but of course began in Jesus Christ, also called one by one by Jesus Christ.

Certainly the Church today there are so many religious orders, congregations, groups and associations of the faithful, but it is always Jesus who personally calls one or the other, in a special following in a path to holiness, to proclaim the Gospel and men baptism

What I mean is that all are called to proclaim the Gospel and to introduce in the life of Christ, men of our time. The call is universal, but at the same time always personal.

But today it is almost easier to talk about Christ to distant that their neighbors. Especially in a family is very difficult for a parent to speak of the faith to their children, tramettere his faith, to persuade your children to go to church. A parent does not know what to say and what to do. Of course a parent should not give up the dialogue with their children about faith, but the best way is that of prayer, of witness, of embodied faith that becomes life.

But it is worth the hassle of the Gospel. Today we look at where you are saints and we also aspire to the same reward, after doing the way we wrestle. Good day.

III Week of Ordinary Time

Mc 3.22 to 30

22 And the scribes who were come down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub, and casts out demons by the prince of demons" 23 But he called them, and said unto them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom can not stand up; 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house can not stand. 26 Even Satan, if he rebels against himself and is divided, it can not remain upright, but it is finito.27 No one can enter the house of a strong man and plunder his goods, unless he first binds. Only then he will saccheggiargli the house. 28 Verily I say unto you, all will be forgiven the sons of men, the sins and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven forever: it is eternal guilt of the offender. " 30 Because they said: "It is possessed by an unclean spirit."

The charge to Jesus

Jesus did talk about and the novelty of its appearance was so great that they did not know what to think of him. At that time like today, moreover, were not able to make a simple operation: 2 + 2 = 4, not in the sense mathematician but in the logical sense: If I drive out demons by the finger of God has come to you the kingdom of God. (See. Lk 11,19)

The intelligentsia of the time: the scribes, Pharisees, priests and teachers of the law even wondered what it was all that was happening around Jesus, indeed fired absurd things like that to act in the name of Belzebull, chief of the demons.

 The Saints accused as Jesus

This way of judging people that come from God always comes back when saints awkward break in the life of the Church, the religious orders, and in the ecclesial community in general, you declare them crazy, or possessed by Satan by St. Catherine of Siena to St. Joan of 'Arco, by St. Francis of Assisi to St. Joseph of Cupertino, let alone Father Pio. When you have no arguments are said to be Saving Silverman.

The Cristi liars and the 'Antichrist

Certainly there are those who pretend and deceive, there are Christs liars, but the Gospel by a very simple criterion for recognizing them: "You will know them by their fruits (cfr. Mt 7,16).

Quite another thing is the Antichrist instead strategy that works from within the Church and makes it look bad things and good people and good things and bad people diverting attention from Jesus Christ himself and faith in Him, to direct it towards the ' man and ecological problems, the so-called civil rights, greenhouse gases, animalism, migrants, the poor in general and many more.

Blaspheme against the Holy Spirit today is to deny Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Lord of all the right to speak to the men of their eternal salvation, silence him, to shut him up, do not name him in the legislative assemblies, remove signs and people who remember and indicate its presence and action.

But they delude themselves all these devils who want to change the gospel: the light of Christ shines in tenebre.La Jesus' victory over sin and death is early and announcement of our victory and of our redemption and the defeat of the Antichrist. Good day.

II week in Ordinary Time

Mark 3: 1-6

1 Again he entered the synagogue. Now there was a man who had a withered hand, and they were 2 to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, to accuse day. 3 He said to the man who had the withered hand: "Get up, come here in the middle." 4 Then he asked them, "Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to kill?". But they were silent. 5 And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of their hearts, said to the man, "Hold out your hand." He held it out and his hand was healed. 6 The Pharisees went out immediately with the Herodians took counsel against him to destroy him.

Freedom of God in doing good

God has the freedom to do good as he wants, where he wants and when he wants, without regard for the men and their opinion. The attitude of Jesus on the Sabbath, as well as motivated by his divine nature, was a strong critic hypocritical use of the law of God, always in view of the interests of men.

Murderous rage

Front to take action so open and counter is just as strong anger that mounts in those men who observe and found them, not in view of the defense of the law and the prerogatives of God, but in view of their position of power over the people. This anger becomes a murderous rage, that will materialize in the sentencing to death of Jesus.

The sin of the people of God and indifference

Now I wonder: this murderer will is only of those men or is present in the new people of God? As we know each hatching within himself an original rebellion against God. And 'therefore impossible that in one way or another this rebellion does not manifest itself in us. The most ordinary way of presenting you with the sin that besiege us. But there is another more subtle way that denies the rights of God and the silences of indifference: talking (but do little or nothing) first and only man, his needs, his problems, his rights and not God and his Son Jesus Christ. Is it lawful and right to speak and to pay attention to the man, but did not overshadow the rights of God, from which depends all the Church as the believer.

To love God and love your neighbor

It is not easy today to deal with the problems of the poor and of society, but this should not be an excuse not to serve God directly.

Some say that having an active inner life is actually an excuse not to serve the poor.

Instead a believer always combines the love of God with love of neighbor. It must be serving God in the brothers, not forgetting to directly serve God with a spiritual life and a charity exclusively made for Him, without self-interest and gratification. If you serve the poor without serving God undoubtedly do a good work, but if you serve God in the poor feel of God that pulsates in you heart. Feel that love you are capable of is not human, you feel that God supports you and gives to do even more for others, like her Son, to give life.

The man with the withered hand

We were left with the man at the center of the synagogue with the withered hand, that Jesus heals. What then will the fact of his hand like and what the will used. The Gospel does not record, and has a sacred holy decency to mention the people who have been healed by Jesus. If we had been us instead of what this man have done? We try to put ourselves in him. Good day.

The week in Ordinary Time

Mc 2,13-17

13 He went out again by the sea; all the people came to him and he taught them. 14Passando, he saw Levi the son of Alpheus, sitting at the tax office, and said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.

15 While he was at table in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many who followed him. 16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, seeing him eating with sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, "Why does he eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?". 17 When they heard this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a physician, but the sick; I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. "

The few words of the Gospel about the Apostle and Evangelist Matthew called truths revealed in the power of the word of Jesus. Everything happened as it was described.

Jesus saw Matthew, but his view goes beyond the simple note or see, the view of Jesus is a total view: he sees the hearts of her life past and future. Matthew was perhaps the most delicious of the debt collectors, the holiest. Not at all. Perhaps Matthew was the most open, perhaps the most available. But I like to think, that it was the choice of Jesus change his life: Matthew felt not only called but also chosen, it took no second thoughts, hesitation the call of Jesus.

This was a burst of love of God, who radiated a light on Matthew who also illuminated other publicans. This led to a party in the house of Matthew, the beginning of a new life. Jesus was criticized by his opponents, but the Love of God has triumphed.

That is our problem: many times we resist the call of God, we are often hampered by the habits of our lives, from the comforts in which we have placed our existence, such as laziness, so many doubts and misgivings about tomorrow. But if God has chosen us what we have to fear ?.

Matthew immediately put in the hands of Jesus, those hands that nailed on the cross will witness the greatness of those who chose him and called to follow Him and to serve Him. Good day.

The week

in Ordinary Time

Mark 2: 1-12

1 He went back to Capernaum after some days. He became known that he was at home 2 and so many people collected that there was no longer room even around the door; and he preached the word to them.

3 They came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four persone.4 they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him was made an opening, they lowered the stretcher on which it rested on paralytic. 5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, you sins are forgiven."

6 They were some of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts: 7 "Why does this man speak thus? Blasphemy! Who can forgive sins, but God alone? ". 8 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, said to them, "Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic," You sins are forgiven, 'or to say,' Arise, pick up your mat and walk '? 10 That you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth, 11 I say to you - he said to the paralytic -: 'Get up, take your mat, and go' at home "12 What stood up and immediately took his stretcher, under the eyes of all went away, and they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, "we have never seen anything like this."

It had to be an extraordinary new presence, word and action of Jesus, who attracted such a crowd, and many desperate. But today for the global problems of the world, your finger will easily tip against Jesus, for his alleged absence or for her to do anything useful and timely: stop wars, terrorism, violence in general against all and against all. It seems that things are out of your hands to Jesus and that everything is falling. Many even ask God to destroy this land now impregnated with human blood too.

But for God's men and all the earth is not a "toy" to hold in hand and then leave when you are tired of using it. For all men God sent his Son and left him to pay him for the men who would blame them condemned forever. Certainly the response of men to love so much was not completes, it by all the centuries back.

Even today there seems to be a mental block that prevents many people to go to Jesus to ask him everything, even the impossible.

What you should see in Jesus is his being God, his divinity, his desire to free man from evil and healthy return and unless God the Father. In the story of the Gospels what is clear and obvious, and not enough criticism and the complaints of the Jews to erase what Jesus does and says, but faith moves Jesus to act promptly.

There is a close relationship between faith and the willingness to work on behalf of God and today is even stronger, because many men, many peoples and nations do not believe and even among believers faith in Jesus Christ is not. Why all this? The causes are many, but undoubtedly there is little of Jesus Christ as God, of his immense power, of his love for men. Those called to proclaim Jesus Christ can not convince you that with God all things are possible and that we can turn to him with confidence.

The problem of faith is still the fundamental problem of the Church. Without faith, God can not operate. Because God does not work? Because without faith God is rejected, he denied canceled and can not act. In this Gospel there is a key step, which then sets off the miracle: "Seeing their faith". Jesus saw the faith of these men who have tried to do everything to be able to bring their family before Jesus and they succeeded. Because today we do not readily get from God? Because today men do not ask for more to God, even if they wait a speech? The question of the faith of the Church is the giant boulder that the Church must bring today to present it to God.

Even for ourselves the problem of faith is the main problem to be faced every day and ask insistently to God: "Lord, give me faith that I did not and I miss", to avoid the paralysis of faith. Good day.
