Mt 13.31-35

31 He exposed another parable to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard, which a man took and sowed in his field. 32 It is the smallest of all the seeds but, once grown, it is bigger than the other plants of the garden and becomes a tree, so much so that the birds of the sky come to nest in its branches ».

33 He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast, which a woman took and mixed in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened."

34 All these things Jesus said to the crowds with parables and did not speak to them except with parables, 35 so that what was said by the prophet should be fulfilled:

I will open my mouth with parables,

I will proclaim hidden things from the foundation of the world.

A large tree comes from a small seed.

The examples that Jesus uses in his preaching are very important. They are valid not only for those people who came from the rural world, but also for men of all time, who live in urban areas, highly industrialized and technological, where it is difficult. see a vegetable garden, a garden, if not in public parks.

What counts in the parable of the mustard seed is the measure of the seed compared to the result obtained. If from a small seed, we obtain a great tree, the more the kingdom of heaven which is the product of the growth and development of the Word of God given to men. The same goes for the example of leavening that makes pasta for bread.

God does not need groups or armies, but the personal availability of each one. But how little space we leave to God to act in us. We are often resisting the growth of the kingdom of God in us and outside of us and so the results are poor, if not negative, as the prophet Hosea says: "And because they sowed wind, they will gather storm" (see 0s 8, 7a).

We must firmly believe that each of us is God's field, prepared for his sowing. The result is certain, guaranteed, our availability is needed, that God does not force, but at the same time he asks us to let us also participate in the fruits of the rich harvest of the kingdom of heaven. We always pay close attention to the infernal enemy: if he does not sow God, the devil is always ready to put his tares. Good day.

Mt 13.24-29

24 He exposed another parable to them, saying: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.25 But while everyone slept, his enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat and He left. 26 When the stem grew and fruited, the weeds also came up. 27 Then the servants came to the landlord and said to him, "Lord, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where does the weeds come from? " 28 And he answered them, "An enemy has done this!" And the servants said to him, "Do you want us to go get her?" 29 "No," he answered, "why do not you harvest the weeds, with it you also uproot the wheat." Let them grow together until the harvest and at the time of the harvest I will tell the reapers: First collect the weeds and tie it in bundles to burn it; the wheat instead put it in my barn »».

Be good grain or be cockle

In a simple parable, Jesus explains to us all the mystery of evil, which concerns the kingdom of heaven as the kingdom of the earth. In the end, even if all the wicked will be confined to hell with the devil (let us pray and work not to find us too), in the new creation, bliss and damnation will be present, without the possibility of communication (see the parable of the rich and poor Lazarus).

Evil does not originate in God, but because of an enemy of God and of man it is sown in the field of man. Man apparently can do nothing to defeat him if not to worry about growing the good grain of God that is divine life, in the field of his soul, because the day will come when they will be separated and good wheat will go into the barns of heaven and the weeds in eternal fire. Jesus explains that (see Mt 13 36-43) good seed are the sons of the kingdom, so the believer's concern is to become "good seed", not just to gather good

seed.

Life serves precisely this transformation. But how easy it is to become a malignant herb, we do not even notice it, if we do not worry about becoming a good seed that produces good fruit. This is the work of a lifetime and also what gives meaning to life. Is not the evil in the world already enough? why are we going to add more? Think about it. Good day.

Mt 13.18-23

18 So you listen to the parable of the sower.19 Every time one hears the word of the Kingdom and does not understand it, the Evil One comes and steals what has been sown in his heart: this is the seed sown along the road.20 What he was sown on the stony ground is he who hears the Word and immediately welcomes it with joy, 21 but has no roots in it and is inconstant, so that as soon as tribulation or persecution comes because of the Word, he immediately fails. 22 That sown among the brambles is he who hears the Word, but the concern of the world and the seduction of wealth suffocate the Word and it does not bear fruit.23 That sown on the good ground is he who hears the Word and understands it; these give fruit and produce one hundred, sixty, thirty one ».

Every time one hears the Word of God and does not understand it.

Often there is the risk of approaching the Word of God with a limited vision either to the written text and to the proclamation of which it is made the object during Holy Mass or in a catechesis. As a result, it is identified with the written text or the proclaimed word, of which little trace remains in us, while it is something much larger.

It is necessary always to have a high conception of the Word of God, pronounced by God and reported by prophets and apostles, that I had no other purpose besides that of transmitting it faithfully and making it known to all.

We must first of all firmly believe that this Word, though passed through the hands of men, was pronounced by God.

This Word therefore does not change and does not pass. Nothing that comes from God changes or passes, as an old thing. If it changes, it is because men have changed it and therefore it is no longer the Word of God.

In the second place, all that is needed to transmit the Word of God, becomes for itself the Word of God, with its own efficacy. In the Sacred Scriptures there are indeed Words of God and words of men, but everything is the Word of God.

Who, for various reasons, makes a distinction in it by saying this is the Word of God, this is the word of men, breaks the invisible thread that unites the Word of God with that of man, and in this way does not pass the message of God.

Countless studies have broken the hair to the word of God, but have not sanctified anyone, rather they have been a cause for pride of reason and source of disbelief. How much holiness instead passes and how much spirit is offered in a homily of a simple priest, that even with the studies that he made in the seminary he always worries to transmit with his Word of God his will, that does not change.

When the Word of God is received as such, it itself works in the hard ground of man and bears fruit, but if one despises it, it will make sterile that ground which it has demanded, even before accepting it, to judge and deny it. Good day.

Mt 11.28-30

28 Come to me, all you who are tired and oppressed, and I will give you refreshment. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, that I am meek and humble of heart, and you will find rest for your life. 30 My yoke is indeed sweet and my light weight ».

To work ... for eternal life

These are words to be heard directly from the person of Jesus: "come to me ... and I will give you rest." What is behind these words of Jesus? Let us not think of human rest but of the divine rest. it is eternal life.

Jesus knows very well the toil of living and educates us to work for what is worth suffering and living for. We do a lot of work to do for many things, but our effort never results in a final result, which puts an end to the toil of living. Only death puts an apparent end and opens scenarios that can be even more dramatic than life itself, which is just extinguished.

The real effort, the one we often rebel against, is the effort to bring one's cross, that is, to work for our salvation.

We prefer to damn ourselves rather than save ourselves. Yes, because carrying the cross is hard work. This is why Jesus tells us to go to Him.

To think well the greatest fatigue He did it, dying for us. We must make the effort to die: to die for ourselves for Him. But we have an infernal enemy who continually invites us not to struggle, not to suffer not to work for our salvation, but to try to enjoy as much as we can of this life, as if there were nothing left after. But whoever reasons like this does not believe that after hell awaits him. To us choose whether to work a little now and enjoy after eternity or enjoy now and lose forever eternal life.

Good day.

Mt 8,28-34

28 Arriving at the other shore, in the land of the Gadarenes, two demoniacs, coming out of the tombs, went to meet him; they were so angry that no one could go that way. 29 And behold, they began to cry out, "What do you want from us, Son of God? Did you come here to torment us ahead of time? "

30 At some distance from them was a large herd of pigs grazing; 31 and the demons begged him, saying, "If you send us away, send us to the herd of pigs." 32 He said to them, "Go!" And they went out, and went into the pigs: and, behold, the whole herd came down from the cliff into the sea and they died in the waters.

33 The herdsmen then fled and, entering the city, told everything and even the demoniac fact. 34 Then the whole city went out to meet Jesus: when they saw him, they begged him to move away from their territory.

Christ, Satan and us

This page of the Gospel is reported in more detail by Mk 5: 1-20 (which speaks of one demoniac) is one of the moments in which Jesus finds himself face to face with the devil, even if present in the person of these two men possessed by Satan.

Before the manifestation to the world of the Son of God, also Satan is forced to manifest himself and recognize Jesus as the Son of God. But Jesus does not want to receive testimony from Satan, who knows very well who Jesus is, but from us, that we know little about him and very often only by hearsay.

Jesus always had a direct confrontation with Satan, who can do nothing against his person, if not to set men against Him. On the contrary, we have an indirect confrontation with Satan in general, who plays hide and throw. his snares and tricks, to keep us in his hand, make us sin, until we get to do irreparable things. And today we always have news of criminal acts of every kind and of moral disorders of all kinds, which involve everyone, including consecrated persons, especially their own.

Nobody can get rid of the devil. He is a spiritual and immortal being, part of God's creation, but of that part that mysteriously rebelled against him.

We must convince ourselves of its existence and its continuous presence in our lives and that we must have a continuous clash with Him if we want to obtain some victory. If we think we can do it without grace, prayer and virtue, easily there

We deceive.

The devil is present both in his personal life and in the life of the Church in general and monkeys his every initiative.

For example, while the Synod of Bishops for Youth is being prepared, he is already working to prepare a counter-synod, which will take place during the Synod (3-28 October 2018), to suggest proposals to the Synod contrary to the will of God. In addition, it will invade the synod of an unprecedented spirit of lust, along with many other surprises. Then of these and many other things fills the life of the Church.

So where are Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Mother of God and the saints? They are always ready to support and give strength to those who want to enter the agony against Satan. Those who do not want to do this fight will be gently accompanied by him.

Good day
